ABOUT Bhip

Working with communities to create fairer health and care.

The Bradford Health Inequities Programme (Bhip) is a five-year programme funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and delivered in partnership by Race Equality Network (REN) and Happy Healthy You (HHU). It is one of nine programmes established nationally to address health inequities caused by structural racism and discrimination.

Bhip will work to address health inequities across Bradford, with community insight and lived experience at the heart of what we do. We’ll work alongside communities to understand the health inequities they face, and where and how racism and structural discrimination contribute to them. We’ll work across the NHS and other health and care services and organisations, as well as the wide range of health and wellbeing support delivered in and by communities. We’ll use what we learn together to turn the stories and insight people share into practical action and lasting system change.

As part of the National Lottery Community Fund’s wider Health Inequities Partnership, Bhip will also work collectively with partners across England, sharing evidence and learning to build understanding, influence wider policy and practice, and contribute to systems change nationally.
